Lucious Larkins
WELCOME
Young Larkins
His father, Bishop Mack Larkins, gospel influenced made a huge impact in his singing style. As a youth, he was popular among the gospel musical culture. His mother, Carrie Larkins, encouraged him in mastering the delivery of the emotional fervor within his singing. As a result of his parents spiritual guidance, he began his singing career around age 8 performing with his mother and two sisters
(Barbra and Laura Larkins) on local radio
and churches within the southern states.
At age 12, he joined and became lead
singer with popular teenage gospel group,
Bivens Specials Group, on Peacock
Recording. While at Peacock Recording, he
was recorded his first single "The Reality
of God". Florida's top gospel promoter, Inez Bivens, gave the teenage group the
opportunity to tour with some of the greatest gospel singers and groups.
At age 14, Lucious and close friend Ronnie
Williams went to R&B, forming a group
that included the back up band Soulsters. The R&B transition proved to be successful for the group. The group Ron & Lucious sign up with Queen Booking in New York and Super Sonic Attrations in Atlanta, Georgia. They began to appear as opening for some of the top legend groups acts across United State (such as The Impression, 5 Stairsteps, Archie and the Drells).
